The Gunners extended their winning streak in the Premier League with another fantastic performance.
Arsenal defeated Burnley 5-0 in their Premier League game on Saturday. Mikel Arteta’s in-form side dominated the game at Turf Moor, claiming their fifth league victory in a row.
What happened?
The Gunners shocked their opponents with an early goal when Martine Odegaard made it 1-0 with a brilliant low shot from the edge of the box in the fourth minute.
Burnley failed to get out of their own half as Arsenal’s pressure continued. The Gunners doubled their lead through Bukayo Saka‘s penalty in the 41st minute, but that was only the beginning of their goal fest at Turf Moor.
Only two minutes after the break, Saka completed his brace to make it 3-0 for the visitors. Burnley’s backline was in disarray when Leandro Trossard added his name to the scoreline ten minutes later.
Arsenal’s dominance continued after the fourth goal as they maintained pressure to extend their lead. Kai Havertz then put the icing on the cake for the visitors when he scored their fifth goal of the night after a brilliant run into Burnley’s box in the 78th minute.
The victory keeps Arsenal within two points of Premier League leaders Liverpool. The Gunners will face Porto in the Champions League before continuing their league campaign with a home game against Newcastle next weekend.
