The Reds claimed an easy win to reach the top of the Premier League table.

Liverpool defeated Burnely 2-0 in their Premier League game on Tuesday. A dominating attacking display from the Reds ensured their victory at Turf Moor.

What happened?

Burnley surprised Liverpool with several serious goalscoring attempts in the first few minutes. But things quickly changed when Darwin Nunez made it 1-0 with a brilliant low shot from the edge of the box in the sixth minute.

Liverpool pushed to double their lead before half-time, but a host of excellent saves from James Trafford kept Burnley in the game.

The hosts failed to mount a comeback after the break as Liverpool maintained their dominance over the possession. However, it took the Reds another 45 minutes to finally score their second goal of the night.

This time, a brilliant one-two between Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz provided enough space for the former to make it 2-0 from close range in the 90th minute. The victory sends Liverpool to the Premier League’s top spot, at least until tomorrow when Arsenal play their next match against West Ham.

Burnley vs Liverpool: Man of the Match

Despite Liverpool’s victory, Trafford deserves the Man of the Match title for an incredible display between Burnley’s posts. The English goalkeeper made a total of eight saves, preventing the Reds from winning the match by a bigger margin.
