The Stallions head coach says his side are mentally prepared to secure a semi-final qualification.
Burkina Faso has made a surprising run to the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations. The Stallions qualified as Group A runner-ups behind Cameroon before beating Gabon in the last 16.
Tunisia themselves managed to beat one of the title favourites when they got past Nigeria to reach the quarter-finals. The two sides will meet in a semi-final tie on Saturday.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Burkina Faso manager Kamou Malo weighed in on his side’s chances of reaching the next round.
“The next match is qualifying for the semi-finals, so it is very difficult,” he said (via CafOnline)
“We have the determination to continue the journey and feel the responsibility,
“Our players are young and have the enthusiasm to win and continue their way. Tunisia is a good and cohesive team, but we have spirit and determination on our side.
“The game will not be played on paper, but on the field. We don’t think about the past, but the present is always more important. We have a young ambitious team, and we can write our present and future.”
If they manage to beat Tunisia, the Stallions will face the winner of the tie between Senegal and Equatorial Guinea in the next round.
