Bukayo Saka is buzzing on all fronts after what has been a special turn of events for him in the past week at Arsenal.
Bukayo Saka is on cloud nine after the events of the past week have left him with great joy.
The youngster was part of the Arsenal lineup that edged past Liverpool to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
The next day, Saka had even more to smile about as he was handed his first England call-up.
To make things better, the 19-year-old bagged his first goal of the Premier League season in his side’s 2-1 victory against Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking after the win, Saka is pleased with what has been an eventful past week for him.
“It’s been a really special week with the call-up, going through to the next round of the Carabao Cup and now getting the win again and scoring the goal,” he told Arsenal.com.
“I don’t score too many headers! I’m really happy with this one and it’s such an important goal as well, I’m happy.
“I’m so happy with this week and I’m just hoping that I can continue to have weeks like this going forward.
“Words can’t really describe how proud I am [to be in the England squad], how happy I am, and how excited I am to go tomorrow. I’m going to go home, celebrate a little with my family, and then pack my bags to get away early tomorrow morning.”
Saka is in contention to make his first senior England debut when they take on Wales and Belgium for their upcoming international fixtures.
