Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has deferred any decisions regarding his future until after the summer’s European Championship with Portugal.

Amid speculation about a potential departure from Old Trafford, the 29-year-old midfielder remains committed to United’s upcoming FA Cup Final against Manchester City and the Euros in Germany.

Fernandes emphasized his immediate focus on ending the season strongly, including the pursuit of FA Cup glory and representing Portugal at the Euros. He stated that any consideration of leaving the Premier League would wait until after the tournament.

While affirming his desire to stay at United, Fernandes acknowledged the importance of feeling wanted by the club. Despite a challenging season both individually and collectively, he remains committed to competing and winning with United.

In March, Fernandes expressed his desire to remain at United during a meeting with the club’s new owners. However, he emphasized the importance of competitiveness and winning trophies.

Since joining United from Sporting CP in January 2020, Fernandes has enjoyed significant success, winning the Carabao Cup last season. This season, he has contributed 15 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances for the club.

United’s campaign has been underwhelming, with early elimination from the Champions League and a sixth-place position in the Premier League with four games remaining. Despite this, Fernandes remains a key figure in the team’s plans.

United holds an option to extend Fernandes’ contract for an additional season, providing flexibility in negotiations regarding his future.

As Fernandes prepares for the climax of the season and international duty with Portugal, his future at United remains uncertain. The Euros will likely play a pivotal role in shaping his decision-making process regarding his club career.
