Brown: 'Sancho would be another layer of the cake'

Borussia Dortmund do not want to let go of Jadon Sancho this summer but former United players want him at Old Trafford sooner rather than later.

Borussia Dortmund have a curt message for Manchester United. Jadon Sancho is going nowhere. Even Roman Burki teased them to wait another year.

United cannot take no for an answer. Paul Scholes has pushed for Sancho’s addition. Rio Ferdinand cannot stop raving about him. Wes Brown has not joined the chorus.

The former Red Devils defender believes United have a crop of players coming through their ranks But he believes the England international is different from the rest.

“We’ve got some young, exciting attacking players but Sancho would be another layer of the cake,” Metro quoted Brown.

“He’s exciting, he’s young, he can score goals and is good with assists. If they can get that done it would be perfect.

“United can always improve. The defense, midfield; the more competition going on all over the field, the better the team becomes.”

Brown was also pleased with the news that Dean Henderson would be plying his trade at Old Trafford next season. The youth academy graduate has impressed at Sheffield United and it is time he contends for first-team minutes.

“I would bring Henderson back,” Brown commented. “He was excellent at Sheffield United last season.

“All positions need competition and Henderson has proved he is more than capable of playing in the Premier League.

“Henderson will want to come back to Manchester United and prove to Solskjaer he should be number one.

“Competition is good for morale and will get both players playing at the top of their game.”
