Anthony Martial led the Red Devils from the front, while Bruno Fernandes revitalized the midfield with his energetic displays.
It is a pickle to decide who was Manchester United’s Player of the Season. It boils down to Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes.
Martial was United’s leading goalscorer with 23 strikes against his name. Fernandes has been inspirations ever since he arrived, laying down assists, scoring free-kicks and not missing a beat from the spot.
Manchester United legend, Wes Brown believes it is a tough choice and would pick the French forward. Brown argued that Martial has been consistent throughout the season and deserves the accolade.
“It’s going to be tough but I’m probably just going to go, Anthony Martial,” Brown told MUTV.
“I thought he stepped up this season and I love it when he smiles because that means he’s scoring! We need to see more of that.
“If Bruno had maybe got here a little bit earlier, it would 100 percent have been him. I’ll stick with my guns and say, Anthony Martial.”
Danny Webber was of a similar opinion and hailed Martial’s influence for United this season. He did admit that had Fernandes been in the side for a longer period, the Portuguese would be their choice.
“Martial main player and I’ll stick with what Wes said there,” Webber added. “If Bruno had come in earlier I’m sure he would have been in.”
