Brighton have beaten a host of top Premier League sides to the signing of Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Brighton have announced the signing of Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo from Independiente del Valle.
The 19-year-old joins the Premier League side on a four-year contract until 2025.
However, Moises might see his debut delayed a bit as he remains subject to international clearance.
Brighton can be glad they pulled this off given the strong interest in the South American teenager. The likes of Manchester United and Chelsea were also strongly linked with the midfielder. However, the south coast side have beaten all parties to his signature.
Seagulls head coach Graham Potter told the club’s official website: “It’s no secret we have been working to bring Moises to the club and we are very pleased he is finally here.”
“He will need time to settle in with the group, for us to get to know him and vice versa, as well as get up to speed and ready for the demands of the Premier League.”
“He has done very well in Ecuador and made his debut for his country just 18. He’s an exciting signing, but it is important we give him time to adjust.”
