The Red Devils suffered another heavy Premier League defeat as Brighton stunned them at Falmer Stadium.

Brighton defeated Manchester United 4-0 in their Premier League match on Saturday. The Red Devils showed yet another awful defensive display while Brighton claimed their first win in three games.

Another night to forget for United!

United started the game with the same lineup that defeated Brentford 3-0 last week. Harry Maguire remained on the bench for back-to-back games after widespread criticism from fans.

However, United’s backline showed no signs of improvement in the absence of the England international. The Red Devils conceded the opener only 15 minutes into the game, with Moises Caicedo putting Brighton ahead.

The hosts had enough opportunities to double their lead before half-time, but they lacked enough composure to convert their chances.

After the interval, however, Brighton looked much improved as they immediately started attacking the Red Devils from both flanks. Marc Cucurella scored his first goal for Brighton to make it 2-0 before Pascal Gross increased the hosts’ lead.

United’s backline seemed completely shattered when Leonardo Trossard scored Brighton’s fourth goal of the night just after the hour-mark.

United had half an hour to escape the humiliating defeat. However, fantastic saves from Robert Sanchez prevented Cristiano Ronaldo and Burno Fernandes from getting the Red Devils back into the game.

What’s next for United?

The defeat keeps Ralf Rangnick’s side in the sixth spot on the table. The Red Devils now feel more pressure from seventh-placed West Ham, who are six points behind them with two games at hand.

United must now prepare to face Crystal Palace in their last Premier League game of the season.
