The USMNT star has sealed a loan move away from Leeds United.

Brenden Aaronson has completed a loan move to Union Berlin ahead of the next season.

The 22-year-old leaves Leeds United following their relegation from the Premier League. He joined the English club just last summer in a $41 million move from Red Bull Salzburg, signing a five-year contract.

“Union’s path and the success of the last few years did not go unnoticed in either the USA, Austria or England,” Aaronson said on his transfer. “Somehow, you always heard something about them.

“A year ago, I wouldn’t have believed that I would be here and able to play in the Champions League with Union.

“I’m looking forward to the year ahead with joy and confidence and want to help us have another successful season.”

Union Berlin’s rise to prominence in the Bundesliga has been nothing short of remarkable. Since making their debut in the German top flight in 2019, the club have quickly joined the competition’s elite.

After finishing fourth in the Bundesliga last season, Union have qualified for the Champions League for the first time in history.

Aaronson’s loan spell at the German side will provide him with top-level competition ahead of the 2024 Copa America, which will be hosted in the US.
