As pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer increases, the Leicester City boss has emerged as a serious option for Manchester United.
After spending a blockbuster transfer window in the summer, Manchester United have failed to live up to expectations this season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side sit sixth in the Premier League with 17 points from their 11 matches. Man United bosses were reportedly keen to keep the Norwegian manager until the end of the season. However, a crushing defeat against Liverpool might have thinned out their patience.
According to 90min, Manchester United are already looking to find Ole’s successors as they consider several choices for the job. The source claims Brendan Rodgers will accept the Red Devils’ offer if they approach him.
Rodgers, however, is not Man United’s only option to replace Solskjaer. The Red Devils are also considering Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane for the job.
With Zidane reportedly eyeing a move to Les Bleus and Pochettino leading Paris Saint-Germain, Rodgers is United’s most likely choice. However, signing the former Liverpool boss might cause backlash from fans, and the Glazers are not keen to make further controversies after their Super League involvement earlier this year.
Manchester United will be back in action against Watford on Saturday, before facing Villarreal in the Champions League three days later.
