West Bromwich Albion has announced a new manager just a few hours after confirming Slaven Bilic’s departure.

West Brom’s fans were surprised by the announcement of Slaven Bilic’s release from the club this Wednesday afternoon. The Croatian manager had been in charge since July 2019, helping West Brom secure a promotion spot in the Championship last season.

Although the Baggies’ season wasn’t going as planned, the newly-promoted side secured an uplifting draw against Manchester City last night. However, the club decided to part ways with the former West Ham United manager.

Consequently, speculation began to grow immediately about the Baggies’ next boss. As Ace Football mentioned earlier, one of England’s former managers was the front runner for the position. As it turns out, the reports were accurate.

West Bromwich Albion have announced Sam Allardyce as their new boss. In an official statement, the club highlighted the 66-year-old’s experience, as well as his reputation for preventing various team’s relegation.

“In Sam we have a man who has a proven Premier League pedigree with a track record of improving every club he has managed,” said Luke Dowling.

“We believe and, more importantly, Sam believes we have a group of players that have the quality needed to give the club its best chance of Premier League survival.”
