Real Madrid just offered an update on Sergio Ramos’ recent muscular injury he picked up during the international break with Spain.

Sergio Ramos picked up a muscular injury while on his international break with the Spanish National Team. The Real Madrid defender had been competing non-stop for a couple of years without any major incidents. But a combination of an overload and his veteran status finally forced him to stop for a little while.

During the crucial Nations League match against Germany, Ramos felt pain in his femoral muscle and immediately got on the ground. In images provided by ‘El Chiringuito’ later that night, you could see Sergio limping as he expected further diagnostics from his tests. As it tends to happen with muscular injuries of this type, players tend to take at least two weeks to recover completely.

In Sergio Ramos’ case, the Real Madrid technical staff is hoping his superior physique can allow him to recover much faster than any other player. But we wouldn’t hold our breath on that one, especially with Ramos’ age.

Real Madrid confirms the muscular injury.

Pending evolution of the problem, Real Madrid just released a medical report on the injury and its extent. The club published a statement on their official website where they confirm the tissue damage on his right leg’s femoral biceps.

The club wrote the following statement: “After the tests made to our player, Sergio Ramos by our medical services at Real Madrid. They’ve diagnosed a femoral biceps injury on his right leg. This will remain pending of evolution.”

After knowing this initial result, it is clear that Sergio Ramos will most likely miss the upcoming La Liga trip to Villarreal next Saturday. We still have no idea if the defender will also miss the next Champions League match but we will keep you posted on his condition.
