Due to suspected bribery for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s arrest warrant has been issued by the Swiss authorities.

It appears that the good days at PSG are about to come to an end for Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The beIN Sports Group chairman was allegedly involved in a major bribery scandal which includes him and former FIFA board member, Jerome Valcke.

Marca reports that the government in Switzerland issued an arrest warrant and a prison sentence of 28 months against the chairman. This is the first arrest warrant issued for major players in the football world. The United States issued similar sentences to several FIFA officials only a few years back.

Swiss Federal Prosecutor Joel Pahud is currently at the helm of the case in which Valcke has been the main accused. However, Nasser has to present himself in front of the court to clear his name or he will be considered a fugitive in that country.

The former FIFA secretary allegedly accepted bribes from Nasser in order to increase his lifestyle until the day he dies. It’s still unclear if PSG will respond to these accusations or if they’ll just allow the storm to pass. The Swiss prosecutor is demanding a 28-month prison sentence for Nasser.

PSG also has to deal with Neymar’s case.

To Nasser’s new situation, we also need to add Neymar to the mix. The French Football Federation is currently going through the tapes of the match between PSG and Marseille. There is proof that the Brazilian player was also racist towards a rival during this match and this prompted a reaction from Alvaro Gonazlez.

If the tapes turn out to be true, both Neymar and Gonzalez could face the rest of 2020 banned from all French football competitions. This means that the French club might lose its president and one of its biggest stars in just a few days’ time. To all the club’s supporters, this is one of the worst possible news they can get. But for most of us, this could be the perfect time to go after Kylian Mbappe in the transfer window.
