After Sergio Busquets’ Covid-19 positive test, the Spain National Team conducted a massive PCR test round today and we have the results.

The Spain National Team was forced to conduct a massive PCR testing round today after Sergio Busquets tested positive on Sunday. There was major fear amongst the squad’s ranks of any other infected player or even worse. This is the reason the Spanish Football Federation ordered everybody to isolate themselves until today’s results were presented. After a few hours of uncertainty, the final results were published a short while ago. As it turns out, absolutely every member of the squad came out with a negative result.

This doesn’t mean everyone is completely out of danger but it is a good sign for the whole team. At least they can continue their preparations for the opening Euro 2021 match against Sweden. The only catch is that they will have to continue working inside a bubble if they don’t want any more incidents. But for now, none of the Spain squad members is infected with Covid-19. This obviously includes all the players.

The Spanish Federation’s announcement in full.

Everybody was eager to know if any more players were infected with the virus ahead of the Euro 2020 debut next week. Sergio Busquets already left Las Rozas in order to get completely recovered. The main announcement was scheduled for today at 22:00 local time, it read as follows: “After Sergio Busquets’ Covid-19 positive test was reported last Sunday. The health protocol was activated in Las Rozas’ Ciudad del Futbol in line with the Health Ministry and UEFA’s guidelines.

“In this sense, the first PCR test round conducted on all players and stad came out negative on Monday. Plus, all internationals worked out with an individual program set by the National Team’s technical staff. All preventive measures will continue throughout Tuesday as preparation of Spain’s Euro 2020 debut. They are scheduled to face Sweden on June 14 at La Cartuja Stadium in Seville.”
