After much speculation, one of PSG’s biggest stars finally reached a new agreement for a 4-year contract extension with the French club.
PSG can finally rest easy with one of their biggest stars, who just reportedly reached an agreement on a four-year contract extension. It was either Neymar or Mbappe. The Brazilian star was already hinting at the possibility to remain at the French club for a longer period of time. Now that he finally sealed his new agreement (pending confirmation), even more speculation on Lionel Messi’s future will come.
TNT Brazil’s Marcelo Bechler just reported that the player decided to remain at PSG for the most prolific period of a footballer’s career. At 28 years old, Neymar is set to remain at the club until the summer of 2026. By the time he plays one of the last World Cup tournaments of his professional life, PSG will remain as his club. This decision might be slightly controversial in Spain after so many rumors of his return to Barcelona kept emerging.
Will Mbappe follow Neymar’s example?
Now that Neymar finally reached his own agreement, PSG’s next order of business will be to convince Kylian Mbappe to remain at the club. With the Brazilian player eager to keep the youngster at the club, perhaps staying won’t be as difficult. Kylian also spoke in public recently about his future to remind us that he is happy in Paris. His situation is different from Neymar’s because he can still play at PSG for a few years before making the decision to play at a different club.
Keep in mind that Mbappe is still only 22 years old. He can easily remain in Paris until 2026 and move on to play his best years for a bigger club. A major factor that can convince him to stay is the overall project that PSG will present to him. Will Mbappe follow Neymar’s example and sign the extension?
