Bad news for PSG during the match against Istanbul, Neymar had to leave the pitch after 25 minutes with an injury on his left leg.
Just as the season started for Neymar, he gets a fresh injury setback at PSG during today’s Champions League match. Initially, the French giants lined up their best possible starting eleven on their trip to face Istanbul Basaksehir. They were fresh out of a painful defeat against Manchester United at Parc des Princes during the first week of Champions League activity. Thomas Tuchel’s players obviously needed to get a victory against Istanbul tonight if they wanted to remain alive in the competition.
Neymar is an essential part of this squad as he naturally started from the beginning alongside Mbappe and Di Maria. During his time in Paris, the Brazilian star already suffered two serious injuries that kept him away in two consecutive seasons. Both of these issues were on his right ankle but he finally recovered from both problems.
Neymar suffers muscular issues.
At around the 20th minute of the match, something seemed off with Neymar. He approached the PSG medical staff to get a quick check-up after suffering pain in his left leg. As he laid down on the ground, it was clear he felt consistent pain as he asked the doctors to help him diminish it. They wrapped his left thigh with bandages but his face was more revealing than anything else, he didn’t last five more minutes on the pitch.
As he was getting the quick check-up, there was a moment in which we felt Neymar was having knee problems. But the multiple reports are saying that he has muscular problems with his abductors. As he left the pitch, we hoped to get a closer look through the cameras but Neymar went right into the dressing room. We will expect a fresh report on his issue at half-time and a more thorough one after the game. Hopefully, this problem isn’t serious and Neymar can return next weekend.
