Breaking news: AC Milan set to sign Sandro Tonali

AC Milan are set to beat cross-town rivals Inter Milan for the signature of Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Various reports in Italy suggest that talented midfielder Sandro Tonali is on the verge of becoming an AC Milan player.

The Rossoneri have reached an agreement with Brescia for the transfer of Tonali according to the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

AC Milan will sign the 20-year-old on a €10 million loan deal, with an option for a permanent transfer for additional €20 million next summer.

They are set to beat their city rivals Inter, who were also interested in the services of the highly-rated midfielder.

Tonali was named Serie B Footballer of the Year in the 2018-19 campaign when he guided Brescia to a promotion as a teenager. However, he was unable to help the Biancazzurri to keep their place in top-flight this season.

In Italy he is regarded as “the new Pirlo” due to his position, playing style, and his outstanding playmaking abilities.

His addition should be a big boost for AC Milan in their bid to return in the Champions League next season.
