After the latest swab test results came out, it turns out that a Liverpool star just came out positive for Covid-19 and he will self-isolate.

The Covid-19 global pandemic just affected one of Liverpool’s most talented players. After a test came out positive, the club announced that the player in question decided to reveal his identity to the world. Thiago Alcantara is the man affected by the virus but he is currently in good condition and won’t be able to play for the club during the next couple of weeks.

The Reds decided to make a public statement in which they revealed that Thiago doesn’t have any symptoms and will follow the health protocol established in England. Initially, there were reports of the player having some minor physical issues but we just found out that it’s more serious than we expected.

Liverpool announced it this afternoon.

Even though they didn’t reveal if Thiago had any contact with the rest of his teammates during his most contagious state, Liverpool announced the news.

They wrote the following statement on their official website: “Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently self-isolating according to the necessary guidelines.

“The 29-year-old, who missed Monday’s match against Arsenal, has exhibited minor symptoms of the virus but is in good health and is getting better.

“The club has, and will continue to follow, all protocols relating to COVID-19 and Thiago will remain in self-isolation for the required period of time.”

First team doctor, Jim Moxon, said: “It is the choice of each individual whether they reveal publicly the outcome of a COVID-19 test.

“We have followed all the protocols to the letter and Thiago is OK. He will be self-isolating now as per the guidelines and hopefully he’ll be back with us soon.”
