After careful consideration, Hansi FLick finally opened up about his future as Bayern Munich’s manager in order to appease the rumors.

Rumors about Hansi Flick had been running around for weeks now, he finally opened up about them today. As it turns out, the German coach decided to terminate his contract with his current club by the end of the season. After Bayern’s victory against Wolfsburg today, Flick made the announcement to the media via Sky Deutschland: “I would like to be released out of my contract at the end of the season. We have had two fantastic years.

“I am delighted with my team and I am grateful to the club for being allowed to train such a team. It was important to me that the players find out from me, since there were lots of rumors swirling around. My future is absolutely not clear. Of course the national team is an option every coach has to consider. I have to digest everything, the last few weeks weren’t easy.”

Why is Flick resigning?

The first reason for this is basically the incredible amount of energy he spent over the last couple of seasons. Guardiola might be able to identify these problems because only he won the six titles in a single season before Hansi. The man basically just needs some rest from everything that’s happened over the last year and a half. Lothar Matthaus also revealed recently that Hansi and Bayern’s sporting director had a massive falling out.

Hasan Salihamidzic simply didn’t agree with many of Flick’s ideas for the club’s future. Given that they couldn’t find any common ground, the manager opted to terminate his contract. Last but not least, we can’t forget that Flick is always attracted by the idea of taking Joachim Low’s place at the German national team. Decisions, decisions…
