The Black and Yellows have finalized a transfer for in-demand Karim Adeyemi.

Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Karim Adeyemi from RB Salzburg.

The announcement comes shortly after Manchester City confirmed the transfer of Erling Haaland from Dortmund. The Black and Yellows have reportedly defeated Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the race to sign Adeyemi.

“As a little boy, I was fascinated by black and yellow fast-paced football,” Adeyemi said after signing a five-year deal at Signal Iduna Park.

“That’s why it quickly became clear to me that I would like to switch to BVB when I found out about Dortmund’s interest.

“I deliberately signed for the long term because I know we’ll be an exciting team that, with the support of the fantastic Dortmund fans, will be able to play for and win titles in the medium term.”

Adeyemi becomes Dortmund’s third signing ahead of the next season. The Black and Yellows have already confirmed moves for Bayern’s Niklas Sule and Freiburg’s Nico Schlotterbeck.

The club hopes to find their next reliable striker in Adeyemi, who has spent an incredible season at Salzburg. The 20-year-old has scored 19 goals and provided four assists in his 27 appearances for the Austrian side last season.

Let’s see if the German international can inspire Dortmund to end Bayern’s decade-long dominance in the Bundesliga next season.
