According to reports from Goal, the Barcelona young starlet has a noteworthy price tag on his head. It might scare clubs away.

This is absolutely ground-breaking. It makes it very clear how much Barcelona wants to treasure their new wonder kid Pedri at Camp Nou on a long-term basis. The Catalan club put a humongous price of €400 million for the release clause of the teenager.

Pedri, subsequently, transferred to Barcelona from Las Palmas during the summer transfer window. And, evidently, all the other competitors for him such as Manchester City and Bayern Munich were brushed aside by Barca. Moreover, the 17-year-old quickly settled into the environment following his first-team starts with teammate Ansu Fati. Pedri now has eight appearances across La Liga and Champions League alongside the iconic Leo Messi.

And now, according to reports from Goal, the Canarian side will receive an additional €4 million once Pedri reaches 25 first-team games. The youngster’s move included a transfer fee of €5 million-plus bonuses and add-ons worth €1 million. In the end, in total, Las Palmas will receive €22 million if all the different agreements are to be met in the near future.

But, the most striking aspect now is Pedri’s €400 million buy-out clause. This could mean that the clubs who will look for the Spaniard will face a huge financial challenge. Meanwhile, this means that Barcelona will set the future strong for Pedri.

Focus on improvement.

On some other note, the Spanish international admired captain Leo Messi’s influence on his career at Camp Nou. Barca will face Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League on Wednesday.

“Leo helps us in many ways on the pitch and the advice he gives you is great, now we have to enjoy him and not get involved in his future decisions and, above all, learn from him,” the teenager told reporters of his Argentine team-mate.

“Messi has helped all of us who have just arrived, from the very first day. He is a great person and he is helping us with advice on the field, a magnificent person.”

Also, the attacking midfielder looks forward to developing his skills with a star-studded Barcelona team.

“It is good to play in several positions and help the team wherever I am needed,” he added. “I can create more danger as a second striker but I can play in other spots and work from there.”
