The Brazilian forward is eager to see his Real Madrid boss at the national team.
Carlo Ancelotti has emerged as the number one candidate to become Brazil’s next manager.
Following Tite’s departure after the World Cup, the Selecao have intensified their efforts to hire a world-class manager. Their reported interest in signing Pep Guardiola led nowhere as the Spaniard extended his contract at Manchester City.
However, the presence of a few major Brazilian players in Real Madrid’s squad has increased the possibility of Ancelotti’s move to Brazil.
“We tell Ancelotti, we’re waiting for you [in Brazil],” Rodrygo told Globo (via Madrid Xtra).
“He jokes that we are going to make the call announcements together. We talk more in a joking tone but every joke has a little bit of truth in it.”
Ancelotti announced his decision to retire after ending his second spell at Real Madrid. The Italian manager has reiterated his stance on staying at Santiago Bernabeu in recent weeks.
“The club has to decide. I’d really love to stay at Real Madrid for my whole life, but it’s impossible, I want to continue here,” the veteran manager said last Saturday.
“If they want me to stay 3 months, I’ll enjoy 3 months. If they want 3 years, I’ll enjoy 3 years.”
