The Liverpool right-back has found himself a permanent spot, and Brazil legend Cafu believes he will become one of the best.
Brazilian legend Cafu revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will potentially become one of the best right-backs of all time. And under the reign of Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool defender climbed up the ladders in just two and a half years. Trent’s skills, moreover, are compared to the remarkable Steven Gerrard. However, both the players play in completely different positions.
During the past two seasons, Alexander-Arnold racked 25 assists in the Premier League with breathtaking long balls from open space. Also, the Liverpool right-back scored some astonishing free-kicks and is considered one of the deadliest in the world. Furthermore, Alexander-Arnold also received a regular spot in the England national team. Even the likes of Rio Ferdinand believes that the youngster will become one of the best right-backs in the world.
Nevertheless, the Brazilian superstar, Cafu could not help but praise the 22-year-old Liverpool defender.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold has a unique personality,” Cafu told FIFA World Cup 2022.
“He’s not afraid to be aggressive. He pressure, dribbles, plays, scores, he developed this personality really early and that will help him become a standout player in the Premier League.
“I think he needs to keep everything good that he has, like his physical condition and his pass, and perfect the cross a bit more.
“The World Champions title would give him a seat among the best. I had the chance to win the World Cup twice and to play in three finals in a row but he’s young and on the right path.
“In the future, he’ll be one of the best right-backs ever in England and the world.
“There’s a big difference between a professional athlete and a football player. The advice I would give is to be a professional athlete.
“Concentration, dedication, commitment. It’s all about the mentality, being focussed 24 hours on what you’re doing.”
