Brazil & Barcelona legend tests positive for COVID-19

In a video message shared on his social network platform, Ronaldinho has confirmed that he has tested positive for coronavirus.

Brazilian football icon and FC Barcelona legend Ronaldinho has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The Brazilian made the public known of his diagnosis via a video message on his Instagram account.

Currently isolating in a hotel in the northeastern region of Belo Horizonte, where he had planned to participate in a public event, he claimed to be asymptomatic.

The 40-year old will remain in quarantine in the hotel until he tests negative and will then participate in the said event.

“I’ve been here in BH since yesterday (Saturday), I came to participate in the event,” Ronaldinho said in the video.

“I took the exams and tested positive for Covid. I’m fine, asymptomatic, but we’ll have to leave the event for (later). Soon we will be there together. Big hug!”

The number of coronavirus cases in the footballing world has spiked up in the last few weeks.

Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo, Borussia Dortmund’s Emre Can, Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi, Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry, and Liverpool’s Naby Keita are just a few high-profile names to get infected by the widespread virus.
