Martin Braithwaite has been in the news for all the wrong reasons but has come out in the open to commit his long term future to the club.

Barcelona profited from La Liga’s absurd injury rule and added Marin Braithwaite to their ranks after the transfer window had closed. He was a fringe addition as the coronavirus pandemic pushed the season ahead and Luis Suarez became fit for action.

With the Catalan club in turmoil, news from his corner has not been forthcoming. It was suggested that he had asked for Messi’s number 10, something Braithwaite has denied in the open

Despite his clarification, the rumor has distanced Braithwaite from the Camp Nou faithful. The Dane does not want to leave and has reaffirmed his commitment to La Blaugrana.

“I haven’t spoken to anyone about a move nor have I even thought about it,” he said as quoted by Marca.

“I’m only thinking about preparing to play well for Barcelona next season and I’m hungry to play and win titles.

“I still see myself here for a long time.

“I speak with my agent a lot and we haven’t discussed other clubs, so there’s nothing to talk about.

The Danish international believes he has adapted to his new surroundings well. However, Braithwaite added that there is more to come from him.

“When you arrive at such a big club you have to adapt and integrate and it’s gone really well,” he explained.

“I’ve put in some good performances and I’ve scored so I’m happy”.
