It’s time to see how the player ratings ended between Borussia Monchengladbach and Real Madrid at Borussia Park this evening.

What a surprising night for Real Madrid during their visit to Borussia Monchengladbach. They were fresh out of an important El Clasico victory against FC Barcelona, filled with confidence. But the UEFA Champions League seems like a competition that no Spanish club will enjoy this season. German, English, French, and possibly Italian clubs could do better.

On paper, Real Madrid had a chance to get a fresh victory that could’ve given them more confidence in Europe. Despite having many interesting chances to score, it is clear that Los Blancos lack that firepower from the old days. Borussia Monchengladbach was more effective and they always gave an impression of creating danger.

It had to be a confessed Culer during a good day for all Barcelona fans. Marcus Thuram’s father played for the Catalan club and the young striker was expecting a day like today. He scored the first goal after a poor decision to pass the ball made by Toni Kroos. Thuram scored after he connected a precise cross from the right flank by Plea.

Real Madrid responds late.

With his initial goal against Real Madrid, Marcus Thuram matched his father’s only goal in the Champions League. But the second half gave us a son surpassing his father with a tap-in against Los Blancos. That was the 2-0 result for Monchengladbach during an evening Marcus will never forget.

This result also confirms Real Madrid’s poor UEFA Champions League form. They might even fail to qualify for the next round if they continue in this form. A nearly forgettable night for Zidane and his players. Today’s performance from Los Blancos was a demonstration of every mistake you can make during a professional football match.

Zidane’s Real Madrid loves suffering in the final minutes, they nearly came back for a win in the final minutes. Karim Benzema pulled one back for Los Blancos during the final minutes and Casemiro scored the equalizer. Regardless of the result, this is not a great look for Los Blancos.
