At an interview with Canal Plus, Blaise Matuidi urged his France teammate and Barcelona star to join the MLS.

Blaise Matuidi induced striker Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona to go along with him in joining Inter Miami. Especially now considering he is out-of-form in the new season.

Evidently, Griezmann transfer transferred in the summer of 2019 from Atletico Madrid to FC Barcelona for €120 million. Though, it appears the striker experienced a very difficult and exasperating time of his career since his move.

Consequently, the 29-year-old is yet to score any goals for the new season. In his overall 51 appearances for the club, he has only been able to score 15 goals in total.

The new Barcelona gaffer Ronald Koeman asked Griezmann to change his role from a center-forward to becoming right-winger.

Nonetheless, the Frenchman is one of the most perilous strikers in Europe. Subsequently, he displayed his classy performance for Atletico Madrid and France’s national team.

Questions are already circling regarding his long-term future at Camp Nou. Especially as he is presently finding himself caught in the shadows of great players; Lionel Messi, Philippe Coutinho, and Ansu Fati.

A way to the MLS.

Matuidi requested Griezmann to go along with him at David Beckham-owned establishment Inter Miami. This is because his agreement with Juventus ended in August. As a result, he joined MLS as a free agent.

Thus, Matuidi confronted questions regarding Griezmann’s future. The 33-year-old midfielder told Canal Plus: “I do not know.

“Only the future will tell. But if he wishes to come one day, he will be welcome.”

Although, regardless of Matuidi’s desire to connect with the previous Atletico charm in Miami, he recognizes the terms of the striker’s contract are valid.

Griezmann is expected to stay with Barcelona until 2024. Nonetheless, this could turn the tables for the 29-year-old as it gives him enough time to change his luck around for the Catalan side.

“Antoine is still young. I know that he is at one of the biggest clubs in the world today. He just has to get through this difficult time he’s going through,” he added.

“After that, he still has many years to play there, with a long contract.”

At the current stage, Griezmann is away on duty with France for the UEFA Nations League.

A rematch of 2018 World Cup final vs Croatia is expected to take place on Wednesday.

The Barca forward played the full game for France vs Portugal on Sunday. However, Matuidi missed the action and did not make it to Didier Deschamps’ list.
