Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that he will stay on as Leeds United manager this season after agreeing a one-year extension with the club.
Leeds’ boss Marcelo Bielsa is ready to lead the club one again following their return to the Premier League.
After a 16-year absence in the top flight, the Whites are back to experience the country’s top club competiton.
Much of Leeds’ hopes fall on Bielsa who has played a key-part in their resurgence since his arrival in 2018.
At the time, the Argentine manager signed a two-year deal with the club with the option of extending for another season.
Much has been said about his future but the has now confirmed he will remain at Elland Road for one more season at least.
“I will be working the next season at Leeds United,” said Bielsa to Sky Sports.
“Everything has been sorted and it is definite that I will be here next season.”
Leeds will begin their Premier League campaign against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday. Bielsa expects nothing but a tough game against the reigning champions.
“They are one of the best teams in the world, with a fine system and very good players,” said the Argentinian.
“It’s difficult to say how our players are going to adjust to the Premier League. We have prepared for this, but we need to show it on the pitch.”
Klopp also paid respect to Bielsa of late and has warned his side not to underestimate the newly-promoted side.
