Let’s face it, what football fan doesn’t love a goal-fest? There is nothing like it when two teams go all out against each other, hitting the onion bag like there is tomorrow. It’s these moments we crave for most in any match.
Some fans like to go one better than that, however, by predicting how many goals in a game there will be. In most cases, the Over/Under 2.5 goal betting market is used to predict the combined score of both teams.
It’s a pretty straightforward concept, with the punter only required to tip whether the number of goals will exceed the line (2.5 goals in our case) set by the bookmaker. The exact amount isn’t necessary; just whether the combined total finishes over or under 2.5 goals.
Why do they use 0.5? To cut down the bet to either an over or under outcome only.
