Amid all the rumors placing Mauricio Pochettino as the new Red Devils manager, Berbatov sent him a stern warning about Manchester United.

If Mauricio Pochettino is about to take the Manchester United job, perhaps he should listen to what Dimitar Berbatov has to say. The Red Devils’ dressing room is currently a place where some players don’t have the will to listen to the manager.

We can list a number of examples of footballers who do as they please without thinking about the benefit of the club. Should Pochettino take the job if Solskjaer gets the sack, there are many surprises he will find upon arrival. Dimitar Berbatov knows how the club works from the inside due to his time playing there, but even he will acknowledge there are aspects he doesn’t know anymore.

What worries Berbatov the most is that Pochettino won’t be able to control the dressing room as Sir Alex Ferguson once did. This is the same problem that Solskjaer is going through and the same reason he is about to get fired. If they lose at Everton, there isn’t much he can do to prevent Pochettino from taking his job.

Berbatov’s warning to Pochettino.

Talking to Betfair, Berbatov said: “If there’s truth to the Mauricio Pochettino rumors, it’s hard to blame United really. When the team plays bad, the buck stops with the boss, and this has always been true. I saw him recently as a guest commentator, and he said he is ready to work again, so it’s hard to stop those rumors. The one thing that won’t change, however, are the players. A new boss won’t change how they play.

“Yes, when you have a new manager you can see a bounce, but overall the attitude remains the same. No aggression, no passion, no holding each other to account. The players need to change their attitude as much as the manager needs to be changed.”

“Everton on Saturday now is a huge game for United, and I think if they lose this, it’s probably the point where they look for a new manager,” he added. “They are 15th in the table, could be lower depending on other results if they lose Saturday, and that isn’t acceptable for a club like United. It’s a must-win for United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.”
