Salah is the latest Liverpool star to be linked with a switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Mohamed Salah has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Al Ittihad amid Karim Benzema’s “uncomfortable” situation at the club.
Salah became Liverpool’s highest-paid player in history after signing a three-year contract at Anfield last summer. But that hasn’t stopped Al Ittihad from inquiring about a possible move for the Egyptian superstar.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Saudi Pro giants are preparing a massive offer to sign Salah before the transfer window’s deadline. The Italian outlet claims Liverpool could receive a £85,5m bid as Al Ittihad plans to give Salah a staggering three-year contract worth £170m.
Reports about Salah’s possible move to Al Ittihad have emerged amid rumours of Benzema’s problems with manager Nuno Espírito Santo. A report from Saudi Arabian source Asharq Al-Aswat claims the Portuguese manager doesn’t want Benzema in his squad.
Earlier this month, Salah’s agent insisted that his client didn’t have any intention of leaving Anfield in the current transfer window. The Reds have already seen Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Firmino leave for Saudi Arabia this summer. But the No.11’s departure would force them to consider signing a new striker in the remaining time until the transfer window deadline.
