The Frenchman is spending the final year of his contract at Allianz Arena.
Benjamin Pavard is reportedly “prepared” to leave Bayern Munich this summer, with three clubs pursuing his signature.
Since joining Bayern from Stuttgart in 2018, Pavard has turned into a key defender for the Bavarians. While mainly playing as a right-back, Pavard’s versatility has also allowed him to become a reliable central defender.
As the Frenchman enters the final nine months of his Bayern contract, he is seemingly keen to take on a new challenge.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter are leading the race to sign Pavard, with the Nerazzurri planning on opening talks with Bayern. However, the Italian giants could face competition from two Premier League sides.
Manchester United were Pavard’s main suitors before Harry Maguire’s move to West Ham collapsed.
On the other hand, Arsenal are monitoring the market to find a replacement for Jurrien Timber. The newly-arrived defender is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Bayern Munich are also unwilling to sell Pavard after their failed attempt to sign Kyle Walker from Manchester City. However, the prospect of losing the defender for free next summer could force them to consider selling him before the transfer window’s deadline.
