Fredrick has attracted attention from elite sides after his performances at the U20 World Cup.

Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Villarreal are reportedly keeping tabs on Benjamin Fredrick.

The Nigerian 18-year-old defender has been one of Nigeria’s top performers so far in the U20 World Cup. On Wednesday, the Super Eagles reached the tournament’s quarter-finals by beating Argentina 2-0.

As expected, scouts from different European clubs have travelled to Argentina to watch the games. Fredrick has reportedly emerged as one of the most promising talents during the games.

According to Fabrizio Romano, several teams are closely following the teenager’s situation. The Sky Sports journalist has claimed Bayern, Man City, and Villarreal are the main clubs in the race to sign Fredrick.

Prior to the U20 World Cup, RB Leipzig and Anderlecht had inquired about the Nigerian talent. However, the 18-year-old’s recent performances have intensified the competition for his signature.

Fredrick spent a short loan spell at Nasarawa United last season but has returned to Simoiben FC ahead of the next campaign. It was the youngster’s second loan move, following his stint at ABS FC in 2022.

Let’s see if an offer from a European side can convince the Nigerian club to part ways with one of their most talented centre-backs this summer.
