Jude Bellingham became the youngest ever goalscorer for Borussia Dortmund during their DFB Pokal match on Monday.

German third-division side MSV Duisburg were humbled by Borussia Dortmund in the 1st round of DFB Pokal.

Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, Thorgan Hazard, Giovanni Reyna, and Marco Reus were all found on the scoresheet as BVB breezed to a 5-0 win.

Bellingham’s strike saw him become the youngest goalscorer, at 17 years and 77 days old, in BVB’s 110-year-long history.

He applied a smooth finish after receiving the ball from Hazard to double his side’s lead with 30 minutes played.

The record previously belonged to Nuri Sahin, who found the back of the net at the age of 17 years and 82 days. Sahin is also the youngest ever player to make a Bundesliga appearance.

Last night’s match also marked Bellingham’s debut for the team, having arrived from Birmingham in July in a €25 million transfer that made him the world’s costliest 17-year old.

With both Sancho and Bellingham on target, Monday’s match also marked the first time that two Englishmen were on the scoresheet in the same match in BVB’s history.

Up next for Lucien Favre’s men is the 2020/21 Bundesliga season opener against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
