Borussia Dortmund were challenging for the Bundesliga title last season, a huge step-up prospect for Jude Bellingham.
Contending for the German top-flight title is very different to playing for your boyhood club in the English Championship. Jude Bellingham has to overcome this very task.
The young Englishman has impressed at Borussia Dortmund. He scored in two preseason club friendlies and has Lucien Favre raving about his skills.
Bellingham could have reportedly joined Manchester United but rejected the offer from Old Trafford. He is content to be a part of an exciting group of players and bought into Borussia’s plans for the future.
“The direction they are heading in and how much they help young players improve made it an easy decision for me personally and my family,” Bellingham said., who recently became the youngest player to ever turn out – and score – for the England U21s.
“I think, in life, you have to take opportunities, and this is a huge one for me to come and play for such a big club.
“It wasn’t a hard [decision] for me to come here.”
Bellingham is in-line to make his debut for Dortmund in the DFB Pokal. The Yellow and Blacks take on the challenge of Duisburg for their first competitive fixture of the 2020/21 season.
