Reports claim Hector Bellerin already has an agreement in place to join Barcelona. However, this would only happen if one condition is met.
Once again, the Hector Bellerin to Barcelona rumors are back in full swing.
The Gunners right-back has been linked with a return to his former side ever since. This time around, the 25-year-old will only move to Camp Nou if Joan Laporta is elected as the club’s president.
Bellerin has been a regular for the Gunners since his debut in 2014, making 232 appearances for the north London side and winning three FA Cups.
Given he grew through the ranks in Barcelona’s La Masia academy, it is no surprise to see subsequent reports regarding a return. He also spent a good time in Barcelona during his recovery from his ankle injury.
As per The Mirror, Barcelona presidential candidate Laporta has already discussed a move with Bellerin’s representatives regarding a summer move.
Laporta is among the favorites to win the elections for the club’s next president later this month.
The 58-year-old already has plans in the pipelines should his bid for the presidency go on to be successful. The biggest on his priority list is perhaps convincing Lionel Messi to stay at the club.
Asides that, bringing Bellerin back to Barcelona could well be another objective for Laporta to complete.
The Catalan club could use their links to the Arsenal man to convince him to leave the club this summer.
However, Barcelona will have to fend off interest from PSG who also have the 25-year-old on their radar.
