The Bavarians might have to play without a key player in the upcoming Champions League game.

Kingsley Coman has suffered a muscular injury ahead of Bayern Munich’s upcoming Champions League game against Barcelona.

The Frenchman started for Bayern in their 2-0 win over Inter at San Siro. However, he will most likely miss the Bavarians’ league match against Stuttgart on Saturday.

“King suffered an injury during training and is getting an MRI right now,” Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann told reporters on Friday. “It’s a muscle injury. We hope it’s nothing serious.

“We will rotate and there will be several changes. Everyone is feeling good. Josh is also able to play. His eye was pretty swollen and colourful yesterday, but it’s already looking better today and he can play.”

Bayern bounced back from their back-to-back draws in Bundesliga by beating Inter.

Nagelsmann started Sadio Man alongside Coman and Leroy Sane on the wings. The German boss will most likely rotate with Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala against Stuttgart.

However, Musiala has serious chances of starting against Barcelona too.

“It would be silly to take it out of my head completey,” Nagelsmann said when asked if he is already thinking about the upcoming UCL match.

“We are concentrating on the Stuttgart game… I don’t understand this kind of question [about looking ahead to the next game] because if you don’t play well, you don’t play well.

“Everyone here wants to be German champions again, and right now we’re not in first place. Yes we do have the game against Barcelona, but we want to win this home game as well, and it makes no sense to give less tomorrow against Stuttgart.”
