Improvement efforts have already been made by Bayern ahead of 2021-22, with defensive options bolstered and an exciting coaching talent recruited.

Bayern Munich will be keeping “a very close eye on the transfer market” for as long as it stays open, says Hasan Salihamidzic.

Bayern, however, the club’s sporting director adds, will refrain from making any big-money signing in times of financial crisis.

The Bundesliga champions have already made additions to their squad. Dayot Upamecano was brought in from RB Leipzig for €40 million while Omar Richards arrived at Allianz Arena on a free transfer from Reading.

Additionally, the Bavarians also made big splash to appoint Julian Nagelsmann as their new head coach, paying a record €25 million to release the 33-year-old from his Leipzig contract.

“First of all, we have an excellent squad which still has potential and which we’ll continue to develop,” Bayern’s official website quotes Salihamidzic.

“That means we’re already well-placed, and we did our work early this time by signing Dayot Upamecano and Omar Richards in defence.

“But we’ll still keep a very close eye on the transfer market until the end.

“However, we have clear financial limits this summer because of coronavirus and can only move within these limits.”
