The Bayern manager has come under fire for his side’s recent displays in the Bundesliga.
Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka have returned to Bayern Munich’s training ahead of their upcoming game against Bayer Leverkusen.
The Bayern duo missed out on Germany’s matches against Hungary and England with Covid-19 infection. They returned to Munich shortly after arriving at Germany’s camp, but they’ll be available for selection on Friday.
According to Sport1, Jamal Musiala, who left the England game with calf cramps, has also fully recovered.
The Bavarians started their preparation for their upcoming clash against Leverkusen on Tuesday.
Nagelsmann trained with ten players, including the likes of Dayot Upamecano and Matthijs de Ligt. However, most of his side’s international players will return to training tomorrow.
Bayern go into their next Bundesliga game after a four-match winless run in the domestic league.
A shock defeat against Augsburg in Bayern’s last game before the international break generated serious doubts over Naglesmann’s future.
Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic shut down reports of Bayern’s search for a new manager. However, he made it clear that he wants to see a ‘different’ Bayern after the break.
“We talked to Julian about all aspects of our start to the season, including the positive ones,” the Bayern director told Sport Bild.
“There was not only the defeat in Augsburg but also a lot of goals at the beginning and two wins without conceding a goal in the Champions League.
“Julian is very clear. He and his team of coaches know exactly what to do. Above all, Julian knows that he has the full backing of FC Bayern, and that doesn’t need to be emphasised again and again.”
He added: “We will appear differently after the international break. And I expect that too.
“Physical intensity, greed and the willingness to push yourself to the limit in every game are the prerequisites for success.
“We also need a much better, more focused exploitation of opportunities.”
