The Senegalese star suffered a fibula injury that ruled him out of the World Cup last month.
Sadio Mane might return in time for the second leg of Bayern Munich’s Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain in March.
Mane missed out on the World Cup after suffering an untimely leg injury just before the tournament. The former Liverpool star underwent injury shortly afterwards, hoping to return in the second half of the season.
The Bavarians have to face PSG in a crucial two-legged clash in the Champions League. While Mane misses the away game at Parc des Princes, he might return in time for the second leg on March 8.
Speaking in a press conference on Thursday, Julian Nagelsmann provided an update on the Senegal international.
“He’s [Mane] an important player,” the Bayern boss said. “If everything goes well, then it could be the case that he returns in time for PSG.
“We will see how he reacts to the workload. Personally, I’m not yet considering him for the first leg.”
Bayern will end their preparation camp in Qatar with a friendly match against RB Salzburg on Friday. Nagelsmann’s side will then return to Bundesliga, where they meet Leipzig a week later.
