Bayern have already found a replacement for the French centre-back.
Bayern Munich will trigger Kim Min-jae’s release clause after agreeing to sell Lucas Hernandez to Paris Saint-Germain.
Hernandez’s contract negotiations with Bayern came to a halt when PSG expressed interest in signing the Frenchman earlier this summer.
The Ligue 1 champions have now reached an agreement to add Hernandez to their ranks ahead of the next season.
According to Bild, PSG will pay €45m plus €3-5m add-ons for Hernandez, making him Bayern’s joint most expensive sale alongside Robert Lewandowski.
The club started their efforts to sign a new centre-back a few weeks ago. Villarreal’s Pau Torres appeared on Bayern’s radar, but the club have decided to complete a move for Kim Min-jae.
The Napoli star has a €50m release clause, which is roughly the same amount that Bayern earns by selling Hernandez. Thomas Tuchel reportedly considers Min-Jae as Serie A’s best defender, hoping to play him alongside Matthijs de Ligt at the heart of his side’s backline.
Benjamin Pavard is another Bayern defender who is expected to leave this summer. The Bavarians have been linked with several right-backs over the past few weeks, with Manchester City’s Kyle Walker emerging as their main target.
The German giants are also in talks with Tottenham over a move for Harry Kane. But according to Evening Standard, they are not planning to meet Spurs’ £100m demand for the striker.
