With still two games in hand after Saturday’s fixture against M’Gladbach, Bayern Munich secure their ninth successive Bundesliga title.
Bayern Munich have been enthroned as the Bundesliga champions for the ninth consecutive season on Saturday evening. With Hansi Flick all set to say goodbye to the club at the end of the campaign, this is the perfect ending to his time at Allianz Arena. The Bavarians received the confirmation of the glorious domestic silverware when Borussia Dortmund beat RB Leipzig 3-2 earlier today.
A narrow escape for BVB from the clutches of Leipzig ensured Bayern their prize even before they kicked off against Borussia Monchengladbach. Yet again, Flick has proved influential for the Bavarians to conquer the domestic title in Germany. None of their rivals have managed to scare them, even though the title race was stretched right towards the end. In fact, it has been a comfortable journey for Bayern.
A pleasant stroll in the park.
Along with just four defeats, Die Roten snatched 22 victories, which are three more than any other club in the league. Therefore, despite a few shakes here and there, Bayern managed to win the prestigious award without any serious damages. To help achieve this honour, a few names can be highlighted who have been incredible this season.Β
Firstly, Robert Lewandowski has been on top form for the entire campaign. The Polish striker once again hit a hefty number of goals – 43 overall with 36 coming from the league itself. Thomas Muller has been massively supportive for the team game with his 17 assists for the season. Along with these two, Kimmich, Alaba, Neuer, and the rest have been phenomenal throughout the run for Bayern.
