The Bavarians are hoping to end their busy transfer window by signing the highly-rated youngster.
Bayern Munich have made a third offer to sign Rennes’ Mathys Tel.
The Ligue 1 giants rejected Bayern’s first two offers for the striker. However, a new approach might be enough to convince Rennes to allow the 17-year-old’s exit.
According to Goal, Bayern director Hasan Salihamidzic arrived in Brittany on Tuesday to negotiate with Rennes over Tel’s transfer.
Bayern made an initial offer of €7 million plus €10m in bonuses for the French starlet. The German champions then submitted a second offer of €22.5m, which was also rejected by Rennes.
According to L’Equipe, Bayern are preparing to propose a new offer of €25m for Tel. The Bavarians reportedly consider the Frenchman among the best young strikers in the world, hoping to add them to their ranks ahead of the next summer.
Bayern will most likely avoid using Tel as Robert Lewandowski‘s replacement next season. However, the Frenchman will provide Nagelsmann with another option in Bayern’s attacking line.
Tel made his senior debut for Rennes during the 2021-22 campaign, continuing his development throughout the last season.
The teenager has made only ten appearances for Rennes’ senior team. But his combination of speed and positional awareness has attracted interest from Bayern, who are spending a busy transfer window.
Following the departure of Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry’s contract extension, the Bavarians are shifting their focus to signing their next transfer targets.
