With his future still on the line, David Alaba keeps getting attacked by several Bayern Munich legends. One of them feels more aggressive.
Several Bayern Munich legends don’t agree with David Alaba’s behavior in regards to his contract extension. The player is clear about what he wants and he is pushing the German giants to pay him what he requests. If he doesn’t get his way, the player has many offers on the table that will allow him to play in a different European league.
Real Madrid does seem like the most obvious choice. Rather than feeling grateful for everything Alaba has done for the club, many of the legendary players who are still there are attacking the player for his attitude. Some of them are more vocal than others, but Lothar Matthaus has his own style of coming after the Austrian full-back. As of right now, the club doesn’t want to sell Alaba for a low price despite the player’s desire to leave the institution.
Matthaus puts Alaba lower than other players.
In a disrespectful fashion, Lothar Matthaus stated that Alaba is not as important as some of the club’s biggest players right now. He spoke to Sky Deutschland: “David is an important player and a face of FC Bayern. That’s why they offered him such a great contract.
“Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer and Robert Lewandowski are a bit more important and therefore above him in the salary structure. David is difficult to replace. Muller, Lewy and Neuer are irreplaceable.
“I hope and still believe that David will play in Munich beyond the season. However, the negotiations have not become easier for him.
“David is now free and in the market and all of Europe now knows that. Now it will show how high the value of Alaba actually is in the midst of a global pandemic and whether his team of advisors has gambled away.”
