The Magpies are looking to reinforce their midfield line by prizing away the Bayern star.
Leeds United are reportedly keen to bring Bayern Munich’s Marc Roca to Elland Road this summer.
Since leaving Espanyol in 2020, Roca has struggled to establish his place in Bayern’s lineup. A lack of game time might result in his departure from the German giants as soon as this summer.
According to The Athletic, Leeds United are actively pursuing a deal for Roca. The Premier League side are reportedly hoping to provide more competition for Kalvin Philips in midfield by adding the Spaniard to their squad.
Roca is two years into his five-year deal at Allianz Arena. However, Bayern are reportedly willing to sell him for a fee of around £10 million.
The Bavarians are close to finalizing a deal for Ajax’s Ryan Gravenberch. The arrival of the Dutch midfielder will further limit Roca’s chances of earning game time at the club.
The former Espanyol star made only six Bundesliga appearances under Julian Nagelsmann last season. However, he will most likely find more chances to regain his form at Elland Road.
The Magpies have already started their activities in the summer transfer window, completing a deal for Brenden Aaronson from Salzburg. Let’s see if they can seal their second transfer of the summer by reaching an agreement with Bayern in the coming weeks.
