Brazilian winger Raphinha might become the next Premier League star who moves to Bayern.

Bayern Munich signed Leroy Sane from Manchester City in July 2020. The German star, who arrived at the club with an injury, struggled to find his best form during his first season. However, he has established himself as one of the best Bundesliga players this season. Bayern might continue to raid Premier League for wingers with a new signing.

According to TNT Sports Brasil, Bayern have already agreed to sign Leeds United’s Raphinha on a €50 deal. The Brazilian outlet claims the winger will join the German champions this winter.

Raphinha’s academy club Avaí FC would receive around 1.5 million euros. The Brazilian source claims the club have already included the money in their next year’s budget.

Raphinha will have to compete with a host of top-class wingers for a lineup spot in case of a transfer. Sane, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman are the team’s main wingers, while Jamal Musiala also gets decent game time.

However, Bayern might lose Kingsley Coman as they are struggling to tie him down to a new deal. The Bavarians might also see midfielder Corentin Tolisso leave as a free agent in the summer. Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn hinted the club might sign new players this winter, despite the Covid crisis.

“Financially, we are capable of doing a lot of things,” Kahn told Süddeutsche Zeitung. “But the lack of attendance because of the pandemic is hurting us.”

Bild journalist Christian Falk also reacted to reports around Raphinha’s potential move to Bayern.
