The Bayern No.1 is ruled out for the rest of the season with a broken leg.

Bayern Munich are reportedly keen to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Keylor Navas as a replacement for Manuel Neuer.

Neuer’s unexpected injury shocked Bayern earlier this week. The Germany international broke his leg while skiing, putting the club in a difficult situation ahead of the second half of the season.

According to German outlet Kicker, Bayern are considering Navas as one of their candidates to cover for Neuer’s absence.

Navas lost his spot in PSG’s lineup after Christophe Galtier’s arrival as their new manager last summer. The Costa Rican’s limited game time behind Gianluigi Donnarumma might convince him to push for a move to Allianz Arena.

However, the experienced keeper is not Bayern’s first choice to replace Neuer. The club’s hierarchy are prioritizing Alexander Nubel’s possible return from his loan deal at Monaco.

Nubel is under a loan contract until June, meaning the Bavarians need to negotiate his release from the Ligue 1 side. However, Monaco’s consent is not Bayern’s only problem regarding Nubel.

Widespread reports in German media claim the former Schalke keeper is only willing to return to Bayern if they guarantee him regular game time.

The German champions will return to Bundesliga action with a match against RB Leipzig on January 20.
