The Bavarians hope to prevent another Bundesliga star from leaving for the Premier League.

Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for Randal Kolo Muani despite possible competition from Manchester United.

Kolo Muani played for France when they lost the World Cup final against Argentina last month. The Eintracht Frankfurt star has attracted interest from a number of top clubs. But it seems Man Utd will have to compete against Bayern to secure his signature.

According to L’Equipe, Bayern have already held “light talks” with Kolo Muani’s representatives.

The French outlet claims Bayern’s attempts are not as serious as Man Utd, who are reportedly willing to make a €60m bid to sign the 24-year-old.

United saw their main forward target Cody Gakpo join Liverpool before the New Year. Losing another major transfer race in January could force the Red Devils to end Amad Diallo’s loan spell at Sunderland prematurely.

Bayern, on the other hand, are keen to bolster their attacking line after Robert Lewandowski’s departure in the summer. Erik Maxim Choupo-Moting showed impressive form in the first half of the season.

But difficult contract talks with the Cameroon international might convince the Bavarians to sign a younger forward before the end of the current campaign.

Eintracht want to keep Kolo Muani in their squad ahead of their Champions League clash against Napoli later this month. But a possible bidding war for the France international might result in a tempting offer in January.
