The Bavarians could add a new goalkeeper to their ranks ahead of the next season.

Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Manuel Neuer’s unexpected injury last winter forced Bayern to sign Yann Sommer mid-season. Bayern also have Sven Ulreich in their ranks, who is now their third-choice keeper.

The Bavarians, however, still lack a young prospect to replace Manuel Neuer in the future. It seems the club are now keen to add another goalkeeper to their ranks.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Mamardashvili is on Bayern’s transfer list. The Sky Sports journalist claims reaching a personal agreement with the player “won’t be an issue” for the German giants.

An additional report from Bild confirms Bayern have been monitoring the Valencia keeper for a long time. However, the German outlet claims the Georgian star will not arrive at Allianz Arena as long as the club have so many options between their posts.

Bayern will also have Alexander Nubel in their squad ahead of the next season. The 26-year-old is back from a two-year loan at Monaco, but his chances of playing ahead of Neuer are even lower than when he left.

Nubel’s agent has confirmed his client is seeking a move away from Bayern. The potential transfer would see the Bundesliga champions start the season with three keepers who are all above 34 years old.
